Woodstream Corporation Acquires Assets of Iron Stop, Inc.
Woodstream Corporation, a portfolio company of CHS Capital™ and Brockway Moran & Partners, has completed the acquisition of the assets and certain liabilities of Iron Stop, Inc. and related entities. Iron Stop is a leading provider and manufacturer of home and garden décor products, specializing in metal wind spinners, wind chimes and twisters. Woodstream is a portfolio investment of CHS Private Equity V LP, a $1.3 billion investment fund formed in 2005.
As the leading innovator in the wind spinner niche, Iron Stop has over 150 copyrighted designs and is the exclusive licensee of Major League Baseball and numerous collegiate teams. Headquartered in Denton, Texas, Iron Stop’s products are sold in wholesale clubs, drug chains, gift stores, and, increasingly, in the lawn & garden departments of D.I.Y. chains and mass merchandisers. The acquisition increases Woodstream’s product offering and complements its product portfolio in the outdoor décor segment. The transaction represents the third acquisition completed by Woodstream since CHS Capital’s investment.
“Iron Stop will further expand Woodstream’s product offering and allow the company to penetrate new and growing outlets, including the club channel,” said Krista Hatcher, Principal at CHS Capital. “We look forward to continuing our strategy of acquiring complementary brands across all of Woodstream’s product categories.”
“Iron Stop has begun to penetrate the traditional D.I.Y. and lawn & garden channels and will be able to leverage Woodstream’s strong relationships with these accounts to pursue further growth,” said Harry Whaley, President and CEO of Woodstream.
Woodstream, headquartered in Lititz, Pennsylvania, manufactures and markets a broad portfolio of branded consumer and professional products under brands such as Victor®, Perky-Pet®, Havahart®, Zareba®, Fi-Shock®, Safer®, Mosquito Magnet® and CobraCo®, among others. The company‘s products, which have leading market share positions within their respective segments, are sold at more than 100,000 retail locations and to professional pest control providers throughout the United States, Canada and other international markets.
