Opened in 1972, the Chicago Botanic Garden promotes the enjoyment, understanding, and conservation of plants and the natural world with its renowned plant Collections and horticultural displays. One of the country’s most visited public gardens, with an attendance of 905,000 in 2010, and a preeminent center for learning and research the 385-acre Garden features 24 display gardens and four natural areas, uniquely situated on nine islands surrounded by lakes. The Garden is located at 1000 Lake Cook Road, Glencoe.
